//Let's start with taxes. I have a problem with taxes, because I don't believe in helping other people and spreading the wealth.//
Do you understand anything about the system of taxation?
Your education, your roads, your state departments (police, borough maintenance crews, public projects, etc) are all dependent on the distribution of tax revenue. You are a Conservative Libertarian douchebag.
//'But how can you be so ignorant?" you might ask. Well, I believe that healthcare should not be handled at a fed lvl, but rather at a state or area lvl. Therefore, I feel like my parents money is actually helping out.//
The severity of stupidity here is staggering. Forgive the alliteration, but this baseless bollocks makes me want to bash my brain out with a brick.
Hospitals do operate on a relatively private level, however I can tell you first hand through the experiences of being one of the 50 million who are uninsured in this country that the system is out of the hands of local and state officials. Healthcare brings in billions of dollars and most of it is squandered.
I injured my back in March. I was in the hospital for three visits, receiving 2 x-rays, one prescription, no physical therapy, and simply being looked at. I've paid back in excess of $1500 over the course of three bills and I got a new bill this past week saying that I've ignored it for another $317....for treatment I never received. The people billing me aren't even from my state. Each separate office of the hospital billed me independently and there was no explanation for half of the stuff I was being charged for.
You may call this an appeal to personal preference, however I have the paperwork and the bills here in my room to prove that bills are being made without justification.
The system is inefficient, faulty, and out of the hands of some local official jerkoff. A system like that which passed the other day, which isn't even close to an NHS system, is made to make the system more efficient, reduce costs universally, and shore up the economy by the distribution of taxes while eliminating one of the highest annual costs to the tax payer (i.e. health care) through making it a service of their taxes.
//Actually, you're probably not going to understand anything I just said, but go ahead and rip that apart.//
What is this fascination with thinking I won't understand you and your blatant ignorance of even the most rudimentary systems of government? I debate conservatives, fundamentalists, libertarians, far left-wingers and other generalized idiots of society all the time. Nothing is new about this. The only thing I don't understand is how people can be so damn stupid so consistently.
//But yeah, spreading the wealth I have a problem with. This brings us to the second thing i have beef with- the economy. Now we've all seen evidence (I hope) saying that this healthcare thing could inevitably affect our economy in a negative manner, and I refer primarily to inflation. How do you answer that? If you need me to baloon or provide evidence, say so.//
I've told you before to always provide evidence.
Really? Quite frankly, the evidence through the attachments to the bill, NOT FROM FOX NEWS YOU BLEEDING MORON, suggests a reduction in $1.4 trillion in our deficit over the next 20 years alone.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtoqHGbO ... feature=ivhttp://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/108xx/doc108 ... _Noted.pdfIf you have evidence, present it. I'm not an easily impressed tosser willingly allowing unsubstantiated claims like yours to ever even impact a conversation. Referring to CLASS (Community Living Assistance Services and Support) as a ponzi scheme or claiming that by next year it won't have done anything is an outright lie and is undermining the situation at hand.
People who object to this are generally very impatient and selfish. You've pronounced both. They want results now, which is why the Bush tax cuts gained him support even though it plunged the country into a further deficit.
Also, lest we forget the Medicare act of 2003 signed in by the Bush administration over the idea of his party knowing what the hell they were talking about. No attempt was made to shore up the economy or explain how they were going to pay for it.
Obama put it well in the link I posted. "Washington has become more concerned about the next election than the next generation."
//I still don't see I significant problem with the healthcare system.//
You are insured and your mother works in relation to a hospital...no wonder you don't have any depth in understanding the severity of the situation.
The health care system is wasteful, inefficient, and the price for insurance and medical treatment is beyond anything that somebody who's never had to deal with being uninsured or being independent could possible understand.
//And I like insurance. All i know is that we have something called "UnietdHeatlhcare" and we pay 20 dollars every visit and its done. So maybe you can enlighten me on that.//
Co-pay. That's all you're paying, and the insurance premiums your parents pay or the benefits that your mom's job offers puts the costs on the institution to be paid back by the taxes they spend and the exorbitant amounts spent by others for the same treatments.
That is your problem.
1/6th of America is not insured. In general, this is because we can't afford it. When we do get injured, quite possibly a logical deduction of being a higher risk due to most workers in this sector being blue collar labor workers, we pay out the ass for years for minor injuries. A back injury like mine wouldn't even be noticed to the checkbook of somebody insured...but for me, the amount that I've had to pay is equal to about how much I make in a month and a half at my current job.
Just for a little perspective.
The rest of your posts, I can't even be bothered to reply to. They're so pig-ignorant that I have to wonder if you have Stephen Colbert as your sig out of irony or if because you actually believe he means what he says on his show. He is there to make fun of right-wing lunacy...and you're sitting squarely in the middle of that group.
